Community Science

K  I know that with most science museums students are very excited and engaged. I also know that they have multiple museums that showcase many different types of science. I expect there to be a lot of interactive things at the museum.
W I would like to create this more as a social experiment. I want to watch to see which things the students enjoy the most, and what I see them rushing too. I’m curious to find out what they naturally enjoy.
L When me and Kirsten went, I learned that they had a lot more to offer then expected. They had a total of five floors of stuff to see and everything was very interactive. I saw students looking at everything, They all gravitated towards the fun stuff as expected, but it was a good mix. They seemed very interested for most of the time. I loved the rock and crystal museum! That was by far my favorite.

My group all choose to do something different, which is great for our future classrooms! We were all able to find a ton of different ideas from outside sources and bring them in. Based on my knowledge from my experience at preriot. I learned that going outside to find things to bring in the classroom will make the class so much more engaging. It would be great to film these places, and show it like a video in my classroom and talk about each thing. I think the students would enjoy that. In the future I plan on continuing to see more science in my environment.
